TuneVA is a private-first singing and voice-memory app where everyday people sing the songs they love. This Privacy Policy explains what information TuneVA collects, how it is used, and how you can contact us about privacy requests.
This policy applies to the TuneVA mobile app, early access testing, and this website.
1. About TuneVA
TuneVA is operated by the TuneML project (VorreiX).
- App name: TuneVA
- Android package / application ID: com.vorreix.tuneml (a permanent technical identifier; the public app name is TuneVA)
- Project / operator: TuneML project (VorreiX), Pordenone, Italy
- Contact email: Automat4ed@gmail.com
2. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create a TuneVA account (your Singer Page), we collect:
- Email address
- Username
- Display name
- Password
Passwords are never stored in plain text. TuneVA stores passwords only as secure password hashes.
Profile Information
If you choose to add one, we store an optional profile photo and basic profile details associated with your Singer Page.
Your Songs (Voice Recordings)
When you sing in TuneVA, we collect:
- The voice recordings you choose to save
- Related details, such as the song the recording is for, the time, file format, and duration
- Review information, such as whether a take is pending, was added to TuneVA, or needs another try, and the basic reason it needs another try (for example: too short, too noisy, unclear, did not match the song, an incomplete take, or a technical issue)
Singing Activity
TuneVA stores information about your activity in the app, including:
- Songs you sing and song, lyrics, or metadata requests you make
- The review status and result of your recordings
- Your singing progress and achievements within the app
Notifications and Device Tokens
TuneVA keeps an in-app notification inbox (Stage Updates) and your notification preferences. If you enable push notifications, we also store a Firebase Cloud Messaging device/push token for your device so we can deliver those notifications. See section 8.
Authentication and Session Information
TuneVA uses authentication and session information to keep you signed in and protect your account.
Operational Logs and Diagnostics
TuneVA may collect basic operational logs needed to run and secure the service. These may include request timing, route names, error messages, and similar technical diagnostic records.
3. Information We Do Not Collect or Use
TuneVA does not collect:
- GPS or precise location
- Contacts
- SMS messages
- Photos, except a profile photo or files you explicitly choose to add
- Payment information
- Government identification
- Advertising identifiers for advertising
TuneVA does not currently use:
- Google, Apple, or Facebook social login
- Ads or advertising networks
- Third-party analytics platforms
TuneVA does not sell your data (see section 9).
4. How We Use Information
TuneVA uses collected information to:
- Create and manage your account and Singer Page
- Let you sing and save recordings of the songs you choose
- Associate your recordings with songs and your account
- Review recordings for basic audio clarity, technical quality, and song match
- Handle the songs, lyrics, and metadata you request
- Send in-app Stage Updates and, if you enable them, push notifications
- Operate, maintain, and improve the quality and features of TuneVA, including its audio and song-matching features
- Keep TuneVA safe, and detect abusive, corrupted, or low-quality submissions
- Diagnose problems and improve reliability
5. Your Songs, Review, and Privacy
Your songs are private by default. Recordings you save are linked to your account and are not shared publicly.
TuneVA is a singing and music-memory app, not a singing exam. When a recording is reviewed, the review checks basic audio clarity, technical quality, and whether it matches the selected song. It is not a judgment of your talent.
What "Added to TuneVA" means. When a take is "added to TuneVA," it means it passed this basic review for audio clarity and song match and was added to your own TuneVA journey. It does not mean the recording is shared publicly.
If a take "needs another try," it usually means the recording was too short, too noisy, unclear, did not match the song clearly enough, was an incomplete take, or had a technical issue. You can always sing it again.
TuneVA may process your recordings and related details to operate the app, review submissions, maintain safety, support app features, and improve TuneVA's quality.
No public sharing today. TuneVA does not publish your recordings. If a sharing, community, or family feature (such as a Family Stage) is added in the future, sharing will be permission-based and under your control — your songs are shared only when you choose to share them.
6. Recording Ownership and Permission
You should save only recordings that you created or have permission to submit.
By saving a recording in TuneVA, you confirm that:
- You have the right to submit the recording.
- The recording does not include another person's voice unless you have their permission.
- You understand the recording may be processed and reviewed as described in this policy.
TuneVA may remove recordings that appear to violate these rules or that create legal, privacy, safety, or quality concerns.
7. Song Content and Copyright
TuneVA is designed for short singing recordings in your own voice.
Please do not upload backing tracks, original commercial recordings, karaoke tracks, private conversations, another person's voice without permission, or copyrighted audio you do not have the rights to submit.
Songs, lyrics, music, and related rights remain with their respective owners. TuneVA does not provide copyrighted backing tracks or full copyrighted lyrics unless properly licensed. TuneVA may store song titles, short cue snippets, and reference links to help you identify what to sing, and does not rehost or redistribute third-party audio or video through the app.
8. Notifications and Device Tokens
TuneVA uses an in-app inbox (Stage Updates) for messages such as when a take is added, when a take needs another try, or when a song you requested is ready. The in-app inbox works without push notifications.
If you enable push notifications, TuneVA stores a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) device/push token so notifications can reach your device. We use these tokens only to deliver TuneVA notifications. If a token becomes invalid, it is deactivated. Push notifications are optional; when push is not enabled or not configured, the in-app inbox still works.
9. No Sale of Data
TuneVA does not sell your personal information.
TuneVA does not sell your voice recordings, account information, or activity to advertisers or data brokers.
10. Service Providers and Storage
TuneVA relies on the following infrastructure and service providers to operate:
- Backend hosting: Railway
- Database (PostgreSQL): Neon
- Audio file storage: Cloudflare R2
- Push notifications: Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google)
- Email (such as account and deletion-related messages): Brevo, or another configured email provider
These providers process and store data on our behalf so we can run TuneVA, keep your account and recordings, deliver notifications, and send necessary emails.
11. Data Sharing
TuneVA shares or processes information only as needed to:
- Operate the service through the infrastructure and service providers listed above
- Review, maintain, and improve TuneVA's quality and safety
- Protect TuneVA, its users, and the public from abuse or security issues
- Comply with legal obligations
12. Data Retention
TuneVA keeps your account information, activity, and recordings for as long as needed to operate the app, support its features, maintain quality, and prevent abuse, or until you delete your account.
Operational logs are retained only as long as reasonably needed for security, debugging, abuse prevention, and reliability.
13. Account Deletion and Recording Removal
You can request:
- Access to the information associated with your account
- Correction of inaccurate account information
- Deletion of your account
- Review or removal of your recordings
You can delete your account in the app from My Singer Page, in the account/privacy settings, by choosing Delete my account and typing DELETE. If you cannot access the app, you can email us from the address connected to your account and we will process the request manually.
When your account is deleted, we remove your account profile, your recordings and their audio files, and related personal account data from active TuneVA systems where technically possible. Some records may remain temporarily in encrypted backups, security or legal logs, or already-generated non-identifying records, until they expire through normal retention cycles. We do not promise instant or one-tap deletion: TuneVA aims to acknowledge requests within 7 days and complete eligible deletion within 30 days, unless more time is needed for verification, legal obligations, backups, or abuse review.
Full details are on our Account Deletion page.
14. Security Measures
TuneVA uses reasonable security measures to protect your data, including:
- Password hashing instead of plain-text password storage
- Authentication tokens for account access
- Access controls for administrative and review routes
- HTTPS for production access
- Disabled Android app data backup to reduce token and preference exposure
- Private backend, database, and storage infrastructure
- Operational controls to reduce abuse and unauthorized access
No system is perfectly secure. Please use a strong password and avoid sharing your account credentials.
15. Children's Privacy
TuneVA is intended for users who are old enough to understand that they are recording and saving their voice in the app. Minors should use TuneVA only with appropriate parent or guardian permission.
If you believe a child has provided personal information or saved recordings without appropriate permission, contact us so we can review the issue.
16. International Data Processing
TuneVA's service providers may process or store data in regions outside your country. By using TuneVA, you understand that your information may be processed where TuneVA and its service providers operate.
17. Changes to This Privacy Policy
TuneVA may update this Privacy Policy as the app changes. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes may also be announced in the app or on this website.
